
Last year, I hosted my very first St. Lucia Carnival Summer Escape, and like any first-time experience, it came with its lessons. For accommodations, I picked a local hotel in a fantastic location. The only downside? The decor was a little… underwhelming. My thinking was practical: carnival-goers wouldn’t spend much time at the hotel anyway, so why prioritize aesthetics?
Well, that logic didn’t fly with my wife. She made it clear that if we wanted to elevate the experience, the host hotel needed to reflect that—no exceptions.

I rolled out the marketing over a month ago, and the response has been great—except for one challenge: the cost. It turns out the higher price point has made some people hesitate. SMH. It feels like one of those “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situations.
But that’s the reality of being an entrepreneur and experience curator. You listen, you improve, and you keep pushing forward. Now, it’s back to following up with interested folks and securing those bookings.
